Position Summary:

As the Area General Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our brand presence in the DC coffee scene. Your expertise in coffee operations and your exceptional leadership skills will drive the success of our venture. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our coffee operations in the Washington DC area.

Position Responsibilities:

·      Operational Excellence: Lead and manage day-to-day coffee production, quality control, and customer service operations to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for customers.

·      Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of coffee professionals. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and growth. Lead with integrity, honesty and knowledge that establishes and promotes the culture, values and mission of Roasting Plant.

·      Coffee Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of coffee roasting, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles to educate staff and guide product offering decisions.

·      Customer Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to engage with the local coffee community, building brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.

·      Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation to ensure the financial success of the Washington DC area operations.

·      High-Tech Integration: Leverage our cutting-edge technology platform to optimize operations, inventory management, and customer engagement.

·      Expansion Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute a growth strategy for the DC market, including identifying new locations and opportunities for expansion.

·      Manage two different P&Ls. Drive store revenue performance and focus on expense management including COGs and Labor.

·      Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Job Requirements:

·      Leadership: Minimum of 5 years proven experience in managing and motivating teams to achieve operational excellence and exceptional customer experiences.

·      Experience: Previous roles in specialty F&B, coffee shop or roastery management, with a track record of successful business growth.

·      Coffee Enthusiast: A deep love for coffee and a comprehensive understanding of the coffee industry, from bean to cup.

·      Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and able to adapt to changing circumstances.

·      Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with executive team, staff and customers alike.

·      Problem Solver: Creative thinker who can tackle challenges head-on and implement effective solutions.

·      Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with using technology platforms to optimize operations is a plus.

·      Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred.
