Why we are hiring a Medical Operations Manager:

Teal Health is seeking a seasoned healthcare operator with an appetite to scale telehealth processes, enthusiasm for product development, an eagerness to grow and manage a medical team and a commitment to an exceptional patient experience. In our initial launch phases, a key component of this role will be hands-on support to ensure that the Teal Medical Practice’s administration processes are seamlessly executed. Longer term focus areas will be scaling and hiring to meet growing patient demand and working with Teal Product, Research, and Engineering leadership. As a medical practice leader, you will provide key input into product development, as well as build and scale patient analytics to ensure we are optimizing for a superior patient experience.

We are seeking candidates located in the Bay Area, as the expectation of this role will be partially onsite in our San Francisco offices.

While this department and team will likely scale quickly, as a start-up we want to make sure that the person in this role is willing to roll-up their sleeves and wear many hats as we then understand what additional hires are needed and make those hires.

  • Lead the Teal Medical Practice through our product launch and patient encounters:
  • Ensure we have all protocols and processes in place
  • Ensure we have all insurance/back-office systems in place
  • Lead remote provider recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Ensure patients receive exceptional care and support
  • Billing strategy development: Partner with Teal Health Operations to expand billing strategies, streamline operations with our billing partners and ensure processes and timelines are adhered to.
  • Tracking of medical practice KPIs: As the practice grows, we will evolve our analytics to track Teal’s success metrics. The Medical Operations Manager will guide the development of that platform and ensure that providers receive feedback and training to continuously improve.
  • Scaling telehealth ops:
  • Optimization of medical practice processes and support to ensure both efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Manage supply/demand. Collaborate with marketing and operations to monitor key demand trends and forecast medical practice staffing needs.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and or collaboration with product to support scale.

Role qualifications:

  • High accountability and passionate for an exceptional patient experience. Teal needs to deliver an exceptional experience to every woman we work with. It is incredibly important that the Clinical Operations Manager understands the importance of this experience and takes accountability for it. We are looking for an all hands on deck approach to Teal’s success.
  • Building and leading new teams: The Clinical Operations manager will be the founding member of the medical practice Operations team. Providing support and guidance to our providers and future hires will be pivotal.
  • A focus on execution and detail: Practice and patient support processes will often be manual – experience in charting, referral follow up, collection and validation of medical records and billing are a must.
  • Data analysis and decision making: Comfortable gathering data and synthesizing it into actionable insights; capable of independently owning complex analyses.
  • Scaling telehealth service in new markets: A knowledge of what it takes to grow into new states, payer and provider processes and the ability to proactively identify growth areas to scale is a plus.
  • Creative and forward thinking: Teal is trying to close the woman’s health gap in the US. This is an undertaking that will require all aspects of the business to get creative as to how we do this at scale, especially the clinical side. Understanding how to leverage technology to create scalable systems on the practice side, but also better engagement on the patient side.
