About the role: As the Manager, Revenue Cycle Management, you will be responsible for owning all aspects of the revenue cycle process, from eligibility verification and billing to claims processing and reimbursement. You will work closely with our clinical and finance teams to optimize revenue performance, minimize denials, and ensure timely reimbursement for services rendered. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ins-and-outs of OBGYN professional billing and health insurance, excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills, and a passion for improving financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle process, including insurance verification, coding, billing, authorization management, collections and reporting
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely billing and reimbursement
- Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Analyze and report on revenue cycle performance to senior management, identifying areas for growth and optimization
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and other revenue cycle issues
- Stay up-to-date with healthcare regulations and payor policies to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement
- Conduct patient financial counseling including benefit education, payment plans and financial assistance options
- Provide leadership and guidance to revenue cycle team (initially two billing specialists), including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, preferably in a OBGYN or similar healthcare setting
- Thorough understanding of OBGYN payor guidelines as well as technical knowledge of the ICD-10 and CPT classification systems
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and revenue cycle management software (ideally Epic and Athenahealth)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, including proficiency in Excel
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) certification is a plus
