We are excited to build our National Virtual Care team with an experienced Physician who is passionate about obesity medicine and metabolic health. Reporting to our National Medical Director, you will deliver comprehensive, weight-inclusive care to patients managing obesity and related metabolic conditions, while also serving as physician collaborator for advanced practice clinicians.
Position: Remote
Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling
EMR: Athena
On-Call: Phone call only, in a rotation every 7-8 weeks for a week at a time. 24/7/365. First line nurse led call service over nights and weekends
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, evidence-based obesity-focused medical care to patients
Provide clinical mentorship, collaboration, and physician oversight to APCs practicing in the National Virtual Care market
See patients within knownwell’s National Virtual Care market, with a particular focus on supporting care delivery in physician-only states
Maintain active medical licensure in multiple states; 50-state licensure strongly preferred; consideration will be given to broadly licensed multi-state physicians willing to obtain 50-state licensure
Develop and implement individualized, patient-centered treatment plans integrating pharmacotherapy, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and behavioral health approaches
Collaborate with registered dietitians and behavioral health providers to support a team-based model of care
Partner with the National Medical Director and clinical leadership to uphold and advance clinical quality standards and care protocols
Contribute to a weight-inclusive, non-stigmatizing care culture consistent with knownwell’s mission and values
Participate in ongoing clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings
Qualifications:
Required
MD or DO degree with successful completion of residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
Unrestricted medical licenses in many states; preference given to those with 50-state licensure
DEA registration
Strong experience, interest, and commitment to obesity medicine and metabolic health
Dedication to weight-inclusive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
Preferred
Board certification or active candidacy in Obesity Medicine (ABOM)
Experience with anti-obesity medications (AOMs) including GLP-1 receptor agonists and combination pharmacotherapy
Comfort working telehealth models
Experience with and interest in APC collaboration and supervision
Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
